INTEGRITY
Integrity is the hallmark of the Atlantic City Police Department. We are
committed to the highest performance standards, ethical conduct and truthfulness
in all relationships. We hold ourselves accountable for our actions and take
pride in a professional level of service to all.
RESPECT
We treat all persons in a dignified and courteous manner and exhibit
understanding of ethnic and cultural diversity both in our professional and
personal endeavors. We guarantee to uphold the principles and values embodied in
the Constitution of the United States and the State of New Jersey.
SERVICE
We believe that every member of our team has valuable skills that will
contribute to our combined success. Utilizing these skills we will enhance the
quality of life for our citizenry through a concerted effort, adopting a
pro-active approach to policing throughout the Twenty-First Century.
FAIRNESS
We treat all people impartially with consideration and compassion. We are
equally responsive to our employees and the community we serve. |
Rapid response to 9-1-1 calls, calls for service, and high visibility
neighborhood patrols are the primary duties of the Uniformed Patrol Sections.
Patrol is often referred to as the "backbone" of the police department, handling
more than 150,000 calls for emergency and routine police service each year.
Uniformed Patrol is a function of the Field Operations Bureau and is organized
by time into three shifts covering day, evening, and nights.
Patrol officers are
seen in a number of capacities by members of the public each and every day
whether they are assigned to marked patrol vehicles, on foot or on bicycle
patrol. They are the first responders to calls for citizen assistance and many
quality of life concerns. The dedication, commitment , and professionalism of
these men and women in the protection of our citizens and the 34 million annual
visitors to our city is paramount. |
