Casino Investigations Unit

            The Casino Investigations Unit is assigned to investigate all reported crimes in the City’s 12 Hotel-Casinos.  The Unit shares jurisdiction with the New Jersey State Police, whose responsibilities are limited to crimes on the casino floor. The Casino Investigations Unit is responsible for the balance of the property, including its hotel rooms, garages and parking lots and other non-gaming space.

            The Casino Investigations Unit consists of 13 sworn police officers and 1 civilian secretary.  The Unit investigated over 2,751 cases during the year 2000, including disorderly persons, robberies, assaults and suicides.
