Domestic Violence Response Team

          As outlined above, the Domestic Violence Response Team (“DVRT”) is a newly developed program aimed at preventing domestic violence as well as supporting victims of such crimes.  Operating as a joint task force out of the Police Department’s Detective Bureau, the DVRT is comprised of 12 officers and detectives from units throughout the Police Department.  This innovative “team” approach has proven to be extremely successful.  Cases have been developed in a timely fashion, and Temporary Restraining Orders have been obtained where needed.  Better prepared cases result in more successful prosecutions.
