SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS SECTION

            The Special Investigation Section is responsible for responding to complaints related to narcotics and other Controlled Dangerous Substance (“CDS”) activity and to enforce City and State liquor and prostitution laws, including illicit activity in the City’s massage parlors. 

            Through intensive investigative techniques and court authorized search warrants, the Special Investigation Section investigated 1964 cases in 2000, arresting 1,582 individuals and seizing $256,495.71 of illicit cash.  The following represents the Section’s arrest statistics for the year.
