K-9 Patrol

The Atlantic City Police Department K-9 unit currently consists of 20 K-9 teams. The K-9 teams are comprised of 10 patrol teams, 4 narcotic detection teams and 6 explosive detection teams.

The Atlantic City Police Department also has one of the finest K-9 training programs in the country. We have trained law enforcement agencies along the entire eastern United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our training includes a 16 week patrol dog school and a 10-12 week scent detection school which covers narcotic, explosive and arson detection dogs.

Our K-9 unit is a vital aspect of the department. It assists, on a daily basis, the citizens of Atlantic City, as well as the millions of people that visit our city. The members of the K-9 Unit are dedicated and professional Police Officers and are the reason why our K-9 unit is so successful.

The Atlantic City Police Department K-9 unit is under the command of Sergeant James V. Pasquale. For further information on our K-9 unit or our K-9 training program, you may call the K-9 Academy at (609) 347-6400.
