Department Aquires Mobile Command PostFrom the Office of the Chief of Police Contact: ATLANTIC CITY NJ, OCTOBER 22, 2001- On Friday October 19, 2001, Atlantic City Police Officials unveiled their newest addition to the police department's equipment arsenal. The police departments new "Mobile Command Center" was put on display for the media, and local Public Safety Officials. The vehicle was designed and built from the ground up by "The Sirchie Group" with heavy input by members of Atlantic City's Police, Fire, and Emergency Management Departments who will share use of the vehicle. The "Mobile Command Center" will be used as needed at various scenes such as Weather Emergencies, Tactical Operations, and large scale Fire or Hazmat emergencies. A diesel engine, and back-up diesel generator system power the command center. It comes equipped with a Police, Fire, and Emergency Management radio system, and has a Closed Circuit Television System. It is climate controlled, has a bathroom, kitchenette, and is equipped with a private briefing room. "Its going to be great not having to plan operations from the hood
of a radio car, anymore" said Chief Of Police Arthur Snellbaker,
who accepted the delivery of the vehicle from Anthony Saggiomo, C.E.O.
