1. How do I obtain a copy of a Police Report?

There are two ways of obtaining your Police Report:

a. Come into the Police Records Section of the Police Department in the Public Safety Building, with proof of identification. Proof of identification is needed, so only the person that has made a complaint can obtain the report. The fee is $ 1.00; this can be paid in cash.

b. Mail a written request to the Police Records Section at the Public Safety Building. Include the place of occurrence, date and time. The fee is $ 10.00, check or money order only.

If you want to obtain a copy of a motor vehicle accident report you would make your request to the Accident Investigation Section. Include driver's name date and time of the accident. This fee is $10.00, check or money order only.You can also obtain this report by coming into the Public Safety Building and going to the accident bureau. There is no charge if you pick the report up in person

2. How do I obtain a copy of my criminal record?

You will need to come in person to the Police Records Section of the Police Department at the Public Safety building. You will need to have two (2) forms of identification. The criminal check that is being done is a name check only; it is not supported by fingerprints. The fee is $ 10.00, check or money order only.

3. How do I get fingerprinted?

a. The Police Department will fingerprint anyone who needs to be fingerprinted. The fee is $10.00 check or money order.

b. You must have your own fingerprint cards from the employer or educator that is requesting your fingerprints.

The Police Department does not fingerprint or take photographs for immigration or passports.

4. How do I get a firearms permit?

Your first step would be to come into the Police Records Section of the Police Department at the Public Safety Building and request an application for a gun permit.

Included in this application are a number of instructions which will inform you on what to do, along with the dollar amounts required for each item you are applying for.
